“To find ones true self, we often battle between what we have perceived as reality, and what we know should be fiction.”
A small flicker of light ignites within a cold fireplace, as flames slowly kindle to small twigs and bark much like a warm embrace to a newborn baby from their parental figure. As we widen our view with the growth of the flames flickering light, we begin to see the formation of a room, a front living quarters for guests. Beside the fire, sits a black leather bound chair, with red accented buttons of a felt material placed in two evenly spaced rows of three. Outside, the sun slowly rises on a fog infested plot of land, that stretches out beyond the naked eye.
Gusts of wind push against the foundations of the room, causing the mansion to howl like a crying wolf, but to not response from anyone. As moments of time move like molasses off of a spoon, the crackling of the now lively fire sets us back into a state of tranquility.
Stepping forward from the side, is the owner of the home, Grayson Vex: dressed in a very fine maroon silk robe. As he sits in the leather chair, the fire cracks once more, which almost instructs him to take a glass from under a coffee table, and place very strictly in the center of the cup a sphere of ice, which he pours a bottle of a fine scotch over, causing smoke to engulf the glass. He smirks as he lets out a relaxed chuckle before picking the glass up, taking a small sip before allow himself the opportunity to sit leisurely.
Grayson Vex: “I am quite happy to make your acquaintance, you know.”
Grayson Vex: “I've found myself, yearning for an adventure, and FWP was just the place I thought that made the most sense to take that dive into.”
Grayson Vex: “Now, I know things with us have started strange, I mean if you've seen my cryptic social media run, then you know more than even I do how I have come off on the wrong foot to many people, including my fellow colleagues here at Florida Prestige.”
He pauses, taking a sip before continuing.
Grayson Vex: “So, how about I set the record straight? Not just for us, but for all future onlookers who care to know what it is I intend to make out of this, or what my plans are now that I'm here.”
Grayson Vex: “I find myself pondering on the works of scholars when I find myself questioning decisions I have made. Some would say this one, to be an impulsive decision. I mean to pick up a sport, when before there was no record of me? No claim to state any resemblance of why I would decide to wrestle of all things.”
Grayson Vex: “It's not because of a lack of attention. I am a self proclaimed only child, due to circumstances, that, frankly do not belong in this video package but in a package all on their own.”
Grayson Vex: “It's not me trying to claim some glory for a legacy family. My surname means nothing in the world of wrestling or in the world of FWP, my parents both worked in finance, not in the business of self inflicting pain by any means for a championship or name.”
Grayson Vex: “It's not to prove I am strong. I do not require such frivolous pats onto my back, for such a form of self pity does not fall to people who demand more of themselves. I would not and will not claim to be some metaphorical white knight riding on a chalised horse with my hair flowing in the wind on a beach. That is not who I am, nor will it ever be who I am.”
Grayson Vex: “No, I'm here for a much simpler reason. One that will simply baffle those who know me from before this day, and will have those who meet me after it question my very sanity.”
Grayson Vex: “I'm here because, I love wrestling. I love this world that the wrestling franchises have built. I live to see the day where I one day headline events, and where I recruit others to my cause.”
Grayson pauses, realizing what he's just stated before straightening his back and taking another sip of his scotch, this one longer than the others.
Grayson Vex: “And then there's my cause, which we will certainly dive deeper into. What I'm here, in FWP to do. And I did bring friends with me, and we are going to help the FWP, by putting it of those who would lie.”
Grayson Vex: “The vile filth of villains who hurt the weak and sadistically torment the fans.”
Grayson Vex: “The lone wolves who think they can act on their own instincts and do whatever they feel like.”
Grayson Vex: “Those who shun away from the order of this operation that we cry out about skipping the lines.”
Grayson pauses.
Grayson Vex: “And the maestros who parade themselves as heroes and symbols for the populous.”
Grayson Vex: “Those who seek to shake the foundations of our cause, and rid us of our shadows and darkest moments.”
Grayson Vex: “And for them, I have a Shadow that lurks. A Shadow that listens through thin walls. A Shadow, who seeks justice for the careless whispers from mouths who should have been sown shut.”
Grayson Vex: “But I've said too much already, of course.”
Grayson Vex: “I hope you all enjoy my fireside chat today, and remember, to always seek the truth.”
Grayson stands, swiping his hair neatly back into place before standing as he goes to continue to speak.
Grayson Vex: “Evenlyn darling, might we be able to get into contact with one Mr. Donovan Basch? I believe meeting this man is in order. Send him an invitation… For a visit.”
