Doctor: Nothing is broken. Nothing major is torn. Everything looks to be good. It was likely hyperextended or over torque. It will remain sore for some time. The swelling will go down in time. You should be fine for your next match.
Avery: Thanks, Doc.
Doctor: And remember the R.I.C.E. method!
Avery: Like... white rice?
*Avery clearly confused. The doctor has a good laugh at it.*
Doctor: No, no. Rest. Ice. Compression. Elevation. R. I. C. E. Rice.
Avery: Oh. Well that makes more sense. I thought somehow carbs would help heal me.
*The doctor looks down at his stomach.*
Doctor: If that were the case, I would never be suffering from sickness!
*The Doctor laughs at his terrible joke as Avery just shakes his head.*
Avery: I appreciate it all, Doc.
Doctor: Not a problem. And any pain or soreness, Advil or Tylenol is fine.
*Avery nods as he stands up and heads out of the exam room and down the hallway into the lobby area.*

*Avery Miles III is stretched out on a large, foam piece of floor in his home gym. It was a step up from your run-of-the-mill home gym but a far cry from that of a gym you would get a membership with. It worked for Avery, and it was his home within his home. Dry Branch, Georgia is where he was born and raised... and it is the place he will likely spend most of his time when not on the road; it was truly home. The gym was adorned with photos and posters of Avery's career throughout the years including all of the championships he's ever won.*
Avery: A mere few days ago at FWP Scion, I faced off against someone that I had thought was not what he appeared to be. I could read between the lines, and the way he carried himself it was clear that he was in this for himself no matter the cost to others or their health. Now while I understand that this is a winner-takes-all sort of sport, doing so at the risk of injury of other people makes me question your morals and ethics as a person. He was trying to offer advice to Stella, and knowing the kind of person he is, I simply warned her. And here we are, my point proven. We talked into Scion never facing each other, and we left me the victor and him getting suspended for trying to legitimately injure me. Is that the sort of person we want on the roster? Is that the sort of person we want giving advice to the younger talent? I think we all know the answer to that.
*Avery reaches forward, the fingers on his left hand grabbing at his left foot pulling it back to stretch it out. It was clearly that while healing, he was also trying to stay loose and be prepared for his next match.*
Avery: The fact of the matter is... Donnie Harris has to deal with whatever ramifications the boss decides. Me? I am 1 and 0, and am in a triple threat match with two men who are certified champions in their own right. I want to start with Donovan Basch, first. We were under the same umbrella for a time... he was a part of West Coast Genesis while I was a part of New Generation Wrestling. He was the West Coast Champion while I held three different titles in NGW. It was a great period of my professional life. I ended up taking some time off from wrestling to establish my own gym, and a few of my trainees have gone on to compete and even win gold. I know that Donovan is a great talent, and it is clear that he would make for a great Prestige Champion. I am not here to doubt anyone else on the roster, it is chalk full of talent. The talent begins at the top with Aurora, and it is a mix of both former champions and up-and-coming talent. The fact that there are three Baschs in FWP shows how talented that family is. Donovan is not a man to be messed with, and I have the utmost respect for him. I know that we will go out there in the squared circle and duke it out without the fear of someone trying to injure someone on purpose.
*Avery reaches to his other foot, further stretching out and working his muscles. He uses a muscle back to pull back on the foot, it was clear that Miles wanted to do whatever it took to keep his body in shape. While he was a few years older than when he had won championships, he was wiser and more experienced. Then again, in professional wrestling thirty three years old was not that old or out of his prime.*
Avery: And the other part of this match is a man that I honestly do not know a ton about; Nathaniel Dixon. He is a former, and current champion himself. Both Nathaniel and Donovan are 2 and 1 so far here in Florida. When you have a star studded roster like Maverick Huntley has signed, having a winner record is a great thing to brag about. Dixon seems like he is a respectful sort of person. Again, without knowing much more about him than what I've learned from watching him here in Florida. A California born talent, I've trained a fair share of those myself. And if Donnie Harris thought that I was past my prime, what is he going to think of Nathaniel at 42 years of age? Dixon shows that while age does increase every year, his pedigree and accomplishments have as well. Does age matter? Sure, to an extent. But I am ready to find my groove with a combination of youth and experience. Something Donnie will still need to learn in time.
*Avery decides to gather his things around him and put them up on a shelf on the far side of the wall. We see photos of Avery's wrestling school outside of Atlanta, Georgia with group photos of his students.*
Avery: If my memory is correct, Donovan and I have never crossed paths. Never squared up inside of the ring. And I know that Nathaniel and I have never. But going into this match are three men that are looking to become the best FWP has to offer. It will be a match of who can secure the pinfall or submission at the right time because as we all know, timing is everything in this sort of match. It is easier to say that you are better than you opponents, but timing is what ultimately decides who is victorious. I can out wrestler an opponent, but if a third party is able to swoop in and take advantage of that situation they are the one that ultimately has the best timing and will walk away with the win. Don't get me wrong, I will do my damndest to leave the next Scion undefeated in Florida Wrestling Prestige; I just know the reality of what a triple threat brings. I wish the best of luck to both of my opponents, and I will see you in the not too distant future.
*The scene ends as Avery looks up at the wall of championships he has hanging.*
